Steve and Alarna Kirby are the husband-and-wife team behind S&A Coins, a proudly family-run business established in early 2025. Originally from New Zealand, the Kirbys made the move to Australia in 2013 in search of new opportunities for their family and to pursue Steve’s lifelong passion for numismatics—the study and collection of Coins and Banknotes. Steve’s fascination with coins began when he was a young boy, captivated by the stories and history behind each piece. Over the years, that childhood interest evolved into deep expertise, strengthened by more than five years of professional experience working for a leading Australian coin company. During that time, Steve also shared his knowledge through a series of published articles, providing valuable insights and information for fellow collectors.

Alarna, his wife and business partner, has always been a strong supporter of Steve’s passion, helping him turn a personal interest into a thriving family business. Together, they manage a vast and ever-changing inventory, with thousands of Coins and Banknotes in stock—ranging from rare historical pieces to modern collectible issues. Steve is both an active buyer and seller, constantly expanding their inventory and connecting with enthusiasts from across Australia and Overseas.
